The Colegio de Arquitectos de Catalunya commissioned Pere Portabella to make this film for the Joan Miró retrospective exhibit in 1969.
The Catalan filmmaker (and all-round Renaissance man) Pere Portabella combines newsreel footage from the Spanish Civil War with close-ups of Miró “Barcelona” series to craft this dynamic montage. A temperature-check on the nation from 1969, which wears its anti-fascist credo close to its heart.
