Synopsis

Female convict Robin Shea convinces carpenter Billy to marry her in order to qualify for early parole. She sets the terms for the marriage “arrangement,” has little interest in marital conventions, and uses her freedom instead to start a rock and roll band and seduce a local politician.

For his final big-screen feature, Roger Vadim returned to one his greatest hits, borrowing the title but none of the plot from his sensational 1956 debut. Rebecca De Mornay inherits the bombshell lead role from an iconic Brigitte Bardot, in a smoldering drama that circles the boundaries of noir.
