Saigon, late 90s. Photography student Vu rents a room in a shared flat. With his camera, he explores the people, places and things around him. He is particularly fascinated by his flatmate Thang, a young man who is at home among the drug dealers, gamblers and prostitutes of Saigon’s nightlife.
Drawing on the cultural and physical landscape of Saigon, but also the sense of disillusionment of a generation, this sensitive drama makes use of a gentle pace and stunning imagery to portray youth. Blooming homosexual desire and artistic tendencies are no respite from the pressures of tradition.
