Letícia decides to return to her hometown after ten years away. Her mother’s depression and bi-polar disorder complicate matters, but also serve as a reason for family rapprochement. In an attempt to tighten ties, Leticia convinces her mother to give her access to old family photos and objects.
After a long period apart, can a daughter and her relatives stay as close as they were before? This scenario is at the core of Letícia Simões’s moving documentary. Illness, family bonds, and the rapture of reminiscing about past events are filtered through a joyous, quietly reassuring sensitivity.
