A mosaic film following the inhabitants of a poor neighbourhood in the Brazilian city of Contagem as they yearn for a better life. At the core of it all is Selma, a woman dreaming about the heart of the world: it could be anywhere, as long as it’s a place where to feel happier.
Shooting in their neighborhood of Contagem, Brazilian directors Gabriel & Maurílio Martins present a vibrant, panoramic picture of the romances and struggles that define the residents of a working-class community. Love and crime, hope and despair: what does it mean to be in the heart of the world?
