Synopsis

A group of characters—mostly parents and their grown offspring—try to relate to one another via a series of thwarted or stunted meetings and introductions. They all center around Youngho, a man on the cusp of adulthood who is confused about his romantic relationships and professional goals.

Suffused with the gauzy light of wintertime, Hong Sang-soo’s wistful snapshot of intergenerational uncertainty zigzags between South Korea and Germany. Languidly shot in black and white, this tranquil character study is an inviting cup of herbal tea—or soju!—to warm us up on these chilly days.
