Lolo, a young man living on the outskirts of Mexico City, loses his job while being hospitalized, prompting Lolo’s mother to pawn her gold watch. Lolo decides to get the watch back but accidentally kills the local moneylender. He is then hunted and blackmailed by everybody but his girlfriend.
The under-known Lolo tells a tale of youthful resolve amid the poverty of Mexico City’s urban slums. With gripping, in-your-face imagery and extraordinary performance from the young Roberto Sosa, Francisco Athié marshals a sharp critique of the rampant corruption ripping through the country.
