A middle-aged disc jockey becomes romantically entangled with two sisters in this quirky Australian comedy. Vicki-Ann and her younger sister Dimity are both feeling stagnant, and they welcome the distraction provided by the arrival of Ken, a formerly popular radio personality fallen on hard times.
“We’re all odd,” declares Ken, a radio presenter with a rocky voice that all the girls of the little town of Sunray fall for. This statement perfectly reflects the film’s tone—a slightly bizarre comedy, winner of the Caméra d’Or for the best first feature at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival.
