Synopsis

In Mexico City’s wealthiest neighborhoods, the Ochoa family runs a for-profit ambulance, competing with other unlicensed EMTs for patients in need of urgent care. In this cutthroat industry, they struggle to keep their financial needs from compromising the people in their care.

MUBI's take

Observing that thin line between life and death, Luke Lorentzen’s gripping documentary dissects the cut-throat intensity of for-profit healthcare services in Mexico City. As evidenced in a shocking street race between rival ambulances, surviving in the age of late capitalism is a dangerous business.
