Harvey Milk is living in New York and is looking for more purpose. He decides to relocate to San Francisco with his partner and shortly after to run for office. In 1977, Milk becomes the first openly gay man to be voted into public office in America. However, his life will soon take a tragic turn.
Featuring a stellar cast including James Franco and Josh Brolin, led by an Oscar®-winning performance by Sean Penn, this may well be one of the best films about grassroots American politics: Gus Van Sant’s masterful biopic about landmark gay politician Harvey Milk.
