The film was shot in six days in Montroig del Camp (the Miró country home) and in Tarragona during the process of elaboration of an original tapestry for eight months using 1200 kilos of wool and 600 kilos for the warp.
Part of an exhibition about the work of Juan Miró, this short by Pere Portabella illustrates the weaving of an enormous, wonderful tapestry created by the artist. More than just an accompaniment to the work itself, Miró Tapis is a testament to the beauty of making and the value of craftsmanship.
