Parmino is a small village in Central India, headed by a Village Committee comprising of all males. When the Government of India notifies the Committee that a third of them must be women, including people in schedules caste and tribes, the Sarpanch, decides to let women run for election.
A demure young woman rises from being a pawn of powerful men to becoming a mass mobiliser. Using the backdrop local government elections in a Rajasthani village, Sanshodhan offers a masterful insight into the farcical execution of government schemes and struggles of women for self-determination.
