When Billy is released from prison, he meets up with his girlfriend Jo. They instantly steal a car and go “shopping,” their term for crashing the vehicle through the window of an upscale store, then stealing everything. But Billy’s return to the streets draws the ire of the law and of rival crooks.
Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson’s apocalyptically stylized 90s teen film was also the debut film of the gorgeous Jude Law. With performances from Sean Bean and Marianne Faithfull, Shopping is a dark, urban tale that flares with the director’s pulp existentialism and cyberpunk aesthetic.
