Max, 10, becomes a fan of gypsy jazz when he hears the virtuoso guitarist Miraldo. This passion leads him to the gypsy part of town where he begins taking guitar lessons with Miraldo. Max discovers a whole new world and befriends Swing, a girl his age. But Swing has a big surprise in store for Max.
The films of Tony Gatlif have always represented the life of gypsy communities through ingenious and complex stories, told with vigor and warmth. In Swing, the discovery and subsequent fascination for another culture develops against the backdrop of blossoming love, gyspy jazz and guitar lessons.
