Directionless thirty-somethings Sophie and Jason will soon adopt a cat that will need constant attention. With one month of freedom left, the couple decides to live life as if the world is ending, leading to quitting their jobs and the internet, creative confusion, adultery and stopping time itself.
A film fully realized by writer-director and star Miranda July (also an accomplished author and artist), this sophomore feature is telescopic and microscopic, balancing both the personal and universal. A hugely ambitious sci-fi-hybrid steeped in metaphor, as well a touching, human romantic drama.
