A squad of Korean soldiers is sent to investigate a guard post that overlooks the DMZ. Seemingly deserted at first, the squad eventually discovers mysterious corpses and body parts strewn all throughout the post.
For his second feature, director Kong Su-chang continues to explore the theme of existential horror within the life of military men. Evoking a pungent gothic atmosphere, The Guard Post builds on an impending sense of doom until it erupts in a startling display of violence.
