A woman in her 60s with terminal cancer, a man in his 40s recently out of jail, and a British artist in his 50s come together by chance and take a road trip to Marfa, Texas. Each are looking for something to give them hope, when hope is in short supply.
A remarkable voice in contemporary cinema, the Italian-born, Texas-adopted Roberto Minervini started making what he calls artisanal films after getting involved with the local communities of his new homeland. The Passage is his striking debut: a Texan road movie that makes surprising discoveries.
