In the suburbs of Delhi, Titli, the youngest in a family of car robbers, pursues dreams rather than participating in family shenanigans. His plans are halted by his brothers, who marry him against his will. But Titli finds an unexpected ally in his young wife, to free himself from the family burden.
Documentary filmmaker Kanu Behl made his fiction feature debut with this assured and gritty noir set in the corrupt underworld of Delhi. Premiering in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Titli empathetically shows the vicious cycles of poverty through its standout cast of largely nonprofessional actors.
