Based on the story of Robinson Cruseo, this cinematic poem observes a single man on a desert island at a cabin on a desolate beach. During hallucinations, Robinson encounters different visions as he is confronted with man’s deep weakness in front of loneliness.
A quixotic fable loosely inspired by Daniel Defoe’s novel, this lyrical, liberatory film was made by the French filmmaker Jean-Daniel Pollet. Tu imagines Robinson, which was presented at the Directors’ Fortnight in 1969, is a clarion call for freedom that questions our perception of reality.
