Ton, a young Bangkok architect, is dispatched to oversee a building site in a tsunami-ravaged seaside town. There, he meets and falls for Na, who runs a hotel and is equally drawn to Ton. As their relationship flourishes amidst the ruins, the true toll of the town’s tragic past begins to surface.
Made under the influence of such Asian auteurs as Tsai Ming-liang and fellow Thai Apichatpong Weerasethakul, this feature debut aligns location with tenderness in a tale of a relationship in a desolate town. Destroyed, abandoned and rebuilt, this location is the stage for an erstwhile romance.
