Deniz, a well liked scholar discovers he has electricity in his apartment during a city-wide black out. Although at first he is amazed by this stroke of luck, as the black out lasts he has to face uncanny feelings.
Adapted from Hakan Bıçakcı’s uncanny story Blackout, this Golden Orange winner juxtaposes a solitary haven against the backdrop of a darkened Istanbul. With candle-lit melancholy, this poignant short captures civilization’s fragility and our human yearning for connection.
