A long time ago, teenage Una ran away with an older man, Ray, a crime for which he was imprisoned. When she comes across a photo of him in a trade magazine, Una tracks him down to his workplace, and her abrupt arrival threatens to destroy Ray’s new life, while derailing her precarious stability.
Based on David Harrower’s Tony-winning play Blackbird, this taut, simmering debut from Benedict Andrews (Seberg) delves into the reverberations of trauma as a young woman finally confronts her abuser. Played to ice-cold perfection by Rooney Mara, it also stars the superb Ben Mendelsohn & Riz Ahmed.
