As the Allies march toward Paris, Hitler gives orders that nothing should be left of the city’s former glory. Assigned to carry out this act is General Dietrich von Choltitz. However, Swedish Consul Raoul Nordling steals into German headquarters and tries to persuade Choltitz to abandon his plan.
Starring André Dussolier, this chamber drama borrows elements from history to depict the meeting between a Nazi officer and a Swedish ambassador during the last days of the occupation of Paris in 1944. A fascinating mission of persuasion to not destroy the city ensues—an urgent, but delicate affair.
