After his abusive mother’s sudden death, Courgette is befriended by police officer Raymond, who accompanies him to the orphanage. At first Courgette struggles to find his place in this strange environment. Yet with Raymond’s help and his new friends, he eventually learns to trust, and finds love.
Lyrically written by Céline Sciamma, My Life as a Courgette is a one-of-a-kind movie, offering irrefutable wisdom to all ages and walks of life. Realized in gorgeously tactile stop-motion animation, its young characters show remarkable resilience and humor in the face of what life throws at them.
