Vicente, a farmer, lives with his grandmother in Mexico. When his uncles threaten to sell his grandmother’s land, Vicente travels to Mexico City in search of justice. Forced to live in an alien environment with his estranged mother, Vicente struggles with a legal system that seems impenetrable.
The debut feature from festival favourite Nicolás Pereda is a compelling drama about a man (the great Gabino Rodríguez)—who must venture to find his mother he hasn’t seen for years—that becomes a meditative look at land, communication and loneliness.
