Synopsis

Bandiera and Rabbino are two brothers who live in a seaside town near Rome, traumatized by their childhood memories of their abusive father. One day, a group of men find a woman lying unconscious and carry her to the brothers. The three of them embark upon a game exploring attraction and repulsion.

MUBI's take

Sergio Citti and Pier Paolo Pasolini had been collaborating on scripts for over a decade when the formidable duo mounted this savage satire of 20th-century Italy. Circling around an anarchic ménage à trois, Citti’s inspired directorial debut takes blistering aim at all corners of modern society.
