An agency boat is taking three new crew members to a bulkcarrier named Sarmaşık. The ship is aimed to sail to her loading port Egypt to carry goods to Angola. When the ship gets stuck on board for months, isolation breeds pressures that sink the men into a sea of madness and terror.
Drawing inspiration from the writers Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Herman Melville and Joseph Conrad, this sly psychological thriller turns a ship into an uncanny place plagued with toxic masculinity. Both an allegory of political polarization in contemporary Turkey and a timeless story of madness.
