Jellyfish tells the stories of three very different Tel Aviv women. Catering waitress Batya takes in a child apparently abandoned at a local beach. Batya is a waitress at Keren’s wedding reception. Attending the event is Joy, a domestic worker who has left her son behind in her native Philippines.
Winner of the Camera D’Or in Cannes, Jellyfish is the product of a collaboration between acclaimed writer Etgar Keret and Shira Geffen. Sharply observed and tinged with surrealism, the three stories at the center of the film form a varied and impactful portrait of womanhood in Tel Aviv.
