When Chris is in debt to a drug lord, he decides to hire a hit man to kill his mother, whose life insurance policy is supposed to go to his sister Dottie. Chris has heard of crazy Dallas cop Joe Cooper, who moonlights as a contract killer. But Joe demands to take Dottie as carnal collateral.
You’ll never look at fried chicken the same way again after this wickedly funny thriller from the late, great William Friedkin. With a screenplay by Tracy Letts, and a magnificently unhinged central performance from Matthew McConaughey, Killer Joe is equal parts Southern Gothic and twisted neo-noir.
