War photographer Grace renounces her job after a devastating incident. Her husband Max is a surgeon in Peru’s high Andes. Nearby, villagers get ill because of a mercury spill from a mine. As they turn their rage on the foreign doctors, Max is killed. Grace decides to visit the place of his death.
The second part of a trilogy from directing duo Jessica Woodworth & Peter Brosens, Altiplano is set among the breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Andes—an area often desecrated by mercury excavations. A story at once tragic and spiritual, the film is enriched by striking cinematography.
