In 1988, Cynthia Beatt filmed Tilda Swinton as she toured round the Berlin Wall on a bicycle. In June 2009, the two re-traced the line of the Wall that once isolated Berlin. The film describes this journey, 21 years later, through varied landscapes, this time on both sides of the former Wall.
More than two decades after Cycling the Frame, Tilda Swinton and Cynthia Beatt resume their psychogeographical ride in a Berlin that feels strangely familiar in its newness. Now extending to the other side of the Wall, their meditative journey is lifted by both urban and personal transformations.
