Francisca, a young Portuguese woman living in Brazil for a year, welcomes Teresa, an old acquaintance she’d lost contact with, into her home. While Teresa is discovering the place where she means to settle, Francisca craves for her life back in Lisbon.
Set in Belo Horizonte, Marília Rocha’s film flows between fiction and documentary to follow two young women played by non-professionals actresses. Through the subtle unfolding of the everyday, the indecisions of early adulthood and the nuances of friendship are portrayed with refreshing naturalism.
