Four struggling actors retreat to a cabin in Big Bear, California in order to write a screenplay that will make them all stars. The problem is: what happens when their story idea—a horror flick about a group of friends tormented by a villain with a bag over his head—starts to come true?
There are plenty of laughs and some genuine scares in this low-budget horror comedy from the Duplass brothers, which takes an inventive spin on the house-in-the-woods slasher genre. Starring Greta Gerwig in pre-Barbie days, Baghead’s success helped launch the early ’00s mumblecore movement.
